Country of humans, remembered for their brazen battle plans, and one of the few countries to find a way to battle dragons effectively.
History[]
Government[]
The Hagedisian government is that of a classic Monarchy. The role of governing the country is passed down from the current ruler to the next oldest in line. The line of succession follows that of the royal family, therefore it will typically follow from Father to oldest Son, and so on. While female leaders are not looked down upon, they are not among the succession line unless there is not a male heir.
Typically these Kings and Queens rule with an iron fist. They govern their cities harshly in an attempt to bring out only the best that they can achieve out of their citizens. One might believe that Hagedisians are perfectionists, only allowing those truly gifted to shine, while those who would dare tarnish this reputation are forced down to live in squalor.
Military[]
The Hagedisian military is formed up of primarily of cavalry. This cavalry has been known to mix both the might of the sword and the control of the arcane, creating a deadly combination for their foes. Mixing these two methods they have been able to curtail many dragon's movement long enough for them to bring their siege engines to bare on the mighty beasts. These engines of war are crafted with a mix of their finest alchemical substances, they have claimed that a single volley could bring down even the most heavily guarded cities.
Society and Culture[]
The Hagedisians pride themselves on their martial prowess. To the point of which that they believe themselves to be superior to all other countries. Because of which, no other country has managed to successfully challenge and defeat the Draconic menace that has plagued their world for so many years. This only spreads their arrogance as they walk over other country's borders without any true regard for the consequences.
Although, this arrogance has not come without reason. The feats they have accomplished along with their self given task of all but defeating the Draconic race have resulted in a golden age for the Hagedisians. Their sciences, magical studies, arts, and of course their military have all seen leaps in their advancement. The Hagedisians believe themselves to be on the cusp of perfection as their society continues to grow seemingly out of control.
